Germany and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have allocated a €20 million grant to support the development of renewable energy in Ukraine

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs of Germany, the European Investment Bank, and the Ministry of Reintegration of Ukraine have agreed to sign a €20 million grant for the implementation of the Renewable Energy Solution Programme (RES).

Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced, "The first decision involves amendments to the grant agreement with the European Investment Bank for the modernization of the water supply and wastewater system in Mykolaiv. The grant amount will be increased from €5 million to €8 million. The second decision is to attract €4.5 million in grant funds from the EBRD and the International Development Association for the repair of damaged housing."

The European Investment Bank has approved €20.4 billion in new financing for investments in energy, transportation, business, education, water management, and regional development in Europe and worldwide.
