Equal working conditions for foreigners and citizens of Ukraine
On the 26th of September the Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Employment of Foreigners and Stateless Persons in Ukraine was sent to the President to sign.
The law primarily provides for the following changes:
- improvement of the procedure for issuing (refusal to issue) or extension (refusal to extend) the validity of a permit to employ foreigners and stateless persons;
- free issuance of a duplicate employment permit for foreigners and stateless persons in cases of loss or damage of a previously issued permit, the validity period of which has not expired;
- creation of a legal basis for the employment of foreigners and stateless persons who are in Ukraine to study in educational institutions of Ukraine;
- increasing the fee for issuing or extending such permits;
- improvement of the norm regarding the list of documents submitted by employers to obtain or extend the validity of permits for employment of certain categories of foreign workers and the amount of fees for the extension of such permits;
- strengthening control over compliance with legislation in this area and creation of a mechanism for the protection of the national labor market and its regulation in terms of attracting foreign labor.
