How Employers Can Obtain Compensation for Workplace Adaptation Costs for Persons with Disabilities

The development of an inclusive and barrier-free labour market is gradually moving from declarative principles to practical financial support mechanisms. For many employers, hiring persons with disabilities involves not only organizational measures but also the need to adapt workplaces, procure specialized equipment, and implement appropriate technical solutions.

To support employers in these efforts, Ukrainian legislation provides a mechanism for compensating actual expenses incurred in arranging and adapting workplaces for persons with disabilities. The purpose of this mechanism is to eliminate physical and communication barriers in the workplace and facilitate equal access to employment opportunities.

The procedure for granting such compensation is established by the Law of Ukraine “On Employment of the Population” and Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 893 dated 22 August 2023.
