How to Obtain Compensation for Hiring Young Employees: Explanation

Ukraine has a system of compensation for employers willing to hire young professionals. These programs aim to reduce the financial burden on employers and help young people gain their first work experience.

The State Employment Service of Ukraine reminds employers about the key conditions for receiving compensation.

Conditions for Receiving Compensation

  • Compensation is provided to employers for hiring young people under the age of 25 with an insurance record of up to one year.
  • Compensation is available for hiring individuals under 35 years old for their first job.
  • Employment must be arranged through a referral from the employment center, confirming the young person’s registration as unemployed.
  • The employment duration must be at least one year.
  • Compensation is paid every odd-numbered month of employment (i.e., in the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth, and eleventh months). The maximum compensation period is six months.
  • The employer receives compensation equal to 50% of the minimum wage, significantly reducing labor costs in the early stages of employment.
  • The application must be submitted within two months from the date of hiring.

How to Submit Documents?

  • In person at the employment center in the employer’s business location.
  • Through the employer's electronic account with a digital signature.
  • By email with a digital signature.
