Register of Damage for Ukraine Begins Accepting Claims for Loss of Paid Employment

Timely documentation of individuals' property and professional losses is an important prerequisite for the future compensation process and the recovery of affected sectors of the economy.

The Ministry of Justice reported that on 25 August 2026, the Register of Damage for Ukraine opened a new category for claims, A3.4 “Loss of Paid Employment”. Individuals and self-employed persons who have lost their jobs or stable income as a result of hostilities can now submit a claim for compensation electronically through the Diia Portal.

Information on employment and income will be automatically verified through integrated registers of the Pension Fund and the Tax Service. Where necessary, applicants may also provide documents confirming the circumstances of job loss or cessation of business activities, including dismissal orders or employment contracts.

The introduction of category A3.4 expands the list of losses that may be taken into account in the future compensation process and provides individuals with an additional mechanism for officially documenting the professional and economic losses caused by the war.
