The Register of Damages launches a new category of claims: compensation for loss of housing.
The Register of Damages for Ukraine has officially launched a new category of claims — A3.3: Loss of Housing or Place of Residence.
This was announced on the official website of the Register.
In particular, it is noted that this category is intended for individuals who lost their housing or place of residence (which served as their home) in the territory of Ukraine on or after February 24, 2022, as a result of internationally wrongful acts committed by the Russian Federation.
Applicants may submit information regarding the loss of their housing or place of residence, including related loss of personal belongings and expenses incurred in securing new housing or relocation.
At the same time, it is specified that:
- claims related to damaged or destroyed residential property should be submitted under category A3.1;
- claims related to personal belongings of exceptional or rare value should be submitted under category A3.7 (Other Economic Losses) once it becomes available.
To submit a claim, applicants must provide information and any available evidence confirming the circumstances of the loss.
Claims can be submitted via the Diia web portal or mobile application.
